Jesus Will Be Your Sanctuary

The First Church in Windsor, CT

Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God,  Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.   Therefore say, thus saith the Lord God, I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.  Ezekiel 11:16,17

This is my first "test blog" to see how things look on the page.  I wanted to upload a picture, and this  one seems very fitting since it is a church, and it has a sanctuary in it.

But, alas, church buildings is not the subject of this blog.  Rather, it is the fact that Jesus promises to be a little sanctuary to everyone in need of comfort, solace and refuge.  The "flagship" scripture for this blog was the promise of the Lord to the Israelites who were in Babylonian captivity.  He promised to gather them again, and that He would be to them as "a little sanctuary" in the countries where He had scattered them, and He would gather them together again to their own land.  As we consider the nation of Israel today, we realize this is truly happening on the natural and national level.   Here's an interesting website to read about Israeli Immigration .

There is a spiritual application to this scripture also.  If you have been  away from the Lord, or His people, away from His Presence and His peace, away from His "Shalom", Jesus promises to gather you again to Himself.  Whether you've been in religious bondage (akin to Babylon) or the bondage of sin and addictions (akin to the Egyptian bondage), you can leave those things behind to find your refuge in Him!

Just look UP, turn your eyes upon Jesus, and He will be unto you a Little Sanctuary!!!

Always Your Sister in Jesus,
